The rafting route covers an area of 6 kilometres, starting from Samardung and ending in Lingkhimtar.
Talking to Northeast Live, Kharel said that the endeavour is expected to generate employment opportunities for almost 300 individuals.
“This activity will provide employment opportunities for almost 300 individuals, which we will gradually try to icrease to 1000. Namthang Rataypani was neglected for a long time in the sector of tourism. But after formation of our government, we are trying to boost the sector as much as possible,” Kharel said.
Rafting and rescue expert Shanti Rai said that the rafting route is perfectly safe and there has been no technical glitches so far.
