Mizoram: Myanmar Army Aircraft, with 14 crew members on board, skids off runway at Lengpui airport

Four of the 14 crew members are said to be critical. All the 8 injured crew members have been admitted to the Lengpui Public Health Centre. The aircraft had come to Lengpui to evacuate the 256 Myanmar Army personnel who had fled Myanmar and were seeking asylum at Parva III village in Mizoram last week. This was the first sortie of the day to evacuate another 92 Myanmar Army officials. Planes from Myanmar have been coming in to evacuate Myanmar Army personnel who have sought shelter in Mizoram because of the ongoing violence in Myanmar.
