After that, he proceeded to Nagaon with the other two escapees, left them there, and went to Kerala alone. After a few years in Kerala, he moved to Bengaluru, Karnataka, where he used some old documents to change his name from Majibur Rahman to Atabur Rahman, the name of his younger brother. Once he was sure that he had all the documents necessary to prove his identity as Atabur, he returned to Assam.
