276 Myanmar army personnel surrender to Assam Rifles in Mizoram

The Myanmar soldiers arrived at Bandukbanga at around 4:00 p.m. with arms and ammunition on Wednesday.

At least 276 Myanmar army personnel crossed the border and entered Parva village in Mizoram’s Lawngtlai district on Wednesday and surrendered to the Assam Rifles.

They’re currently putting up at the Assam Rifles camp and will be brought to Aizawl.

As per inputs, the Myanmar soldiers arrived at Bandukbanga at around 4:00 p.m. with arms and ammunition on Wednesday.

The Myanmar Army personnel, also known as ‘Tatmadaw’, entered Mizoram’s Lawntlai district after fleeing their camps across the international border.

Notably, the Myanmar Army Base near Parva was earlier captured by the Myanmar People’s Army, also known as the People’s Defence Force or PDF and the Chin National Army combined.

Earlier on December 30, 2023, as many as 83 Myanmar army personnel entered Mizoram-Myanmar border Tuisentlang village in southernmost Mizoram’s Lawngtlai district with the intention of surrendering to the Assam Rifles officials at nearby Parva village, a senior state police official said.
