3.5 magnitude earthquake hits Assam today

There was no immediate report of any injury to anyone or damage to any property.
An earthquake of magnitude 3.5 on the Richter Scale hit Assam’s Darrang on Wednesday morning, National Center for Seismology said.
A National Center for Seismology report said the quake was recorded at 7.54 am.
Taking to X, the official account of NCS wrote, “Earthquake of Magnitude:3.5, Occurred on 17-01-2024, 07:54:52 IST, Lat: 26.55 & Long: 92.13, Depth: 20 Km ,Location: Darrang, Assam”
People in the neighbouring Kamrup district also felt the jolt.
There was no immediate report of any injury to anyone or damage to any property.
On Monday, an earthquake of 3.6 magnitude hit central Assam.
As per NCS inputs, the quake was recorded at 7.12 pm, epicentred in East Karbi Anglong district on the southern bank of Brahmaputra, at a depth of 23 km.
The exact location of the epicentre of the earthquake is around 170 km east-south-east from Guwahati, near the Nagaland border.
