A day after a person was killed by mortar explosion in the Indian Army’s Ballaliang firing range near Loiliang village of Itanagar, more unexploded mortars have been found.

In a search conducted by a joint team of police officials and army along with the local villagers many misfired mortars were discovered.

The negligent behaviour of the Indian Army often leaving misfired mortars and other explosive devices in the firing range without defusing them is a matter of concern for the villagers of Loiliang.

The agitated villagers are planning to submit a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner of Lohit on Monday.
