The Eastern Naga Students Federation (ENSF) has demanded that the Assam Rifles jawans involved in the Oting incident be booked as per law soon.

Besides, the ENSF also demanded that the families of those deceased in the incident be given a compensation of Rs 1 crore, and Rs 50 lakh to the injured people.

The student’s body also demanded that the state government keep its promise of giving jobs to the kin of the deceased.

The chorus demanding repeal of AFSPA from Nagaland growing louder and a mass public march titled ‘March Against AFSPA’ has been organised from Dimapur to Kohima today to demand complete withdrawal of the act from the state.

The 2-day march, covering a distance of nearly 70 kilometres, commenced from Dimapur’s Supermarket area at 6 am this morning and will cuminate at Raj Bhawan in Kohima where the protestors will submit a memorandum to the Government of India through Nagaland Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi for the immediate repeal of AFSPA.
