The Punjab government has submitted a detailed report to the Ministry of Home Affairs on the security breach during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Ferozepur.

The report detailing the sequence of events leading up to the security breach was submitted by Punjab Chief Secretary Anirudh Tewari.

The report was made after consulting with top police officials of the state, who were in charge of the prime minister’s security.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Home Affairs also constituted a three-member team to inquire into serious lapses in the security arrangements during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Punjab’s Ferozepur on January 5.

The Supreme Court also took note of the gravity of the alleged breach and will today hear a PIL seeking a fair probe into the incident.
