Teens queue for Covid-9 vaccination for 15-18-year-olds in Northeast

Along with other parts of India vaccination drive against 15-18-year-olds also began in various Northeastern states as well.

Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma who is in Oil town Duliajan for two day SP’s conference of Assam Police kick-started the vaccination drive here at OIL Higher Secondary School.

In Guwahati vaccination started in 15 schools in the city as the inoculation drive against Covid-19 begins began in 500 schools across the state.

In Barak Valley’s Cachar Over 1lakh,13 thousand,139 students will be vaccinated under the age group of 15-18 during the inoculation drive.

In Nagaland, the inoculation drive for teens was launched at Kohima and Dimapur whereas the vaccine drive in other districts of the State will take place in the coming days.

The official rollout of the jab drive was launched by State Health Minister S. Pangnyu Phom at Dimapur District Hospital.

Worth mentioning here that a total of 1,43,000 Covaxin doses were received by the State from the Centre for the Covid vaccination drive.

Vaccination has also begun in Meghalaya where Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong kicked started the drive in Shillong. Tynsong’s daughter was the first to receive the Covid-19 jab.

Vaccination in  Mizoram only took place in Aizwal in a lone school. As per reports the state government plans to roll out the vaccination drive for teens in the next few days. It is to be noted that the positivity rate in Mizoram is quite high in comparison to the rest of the country with the state registering nearly 150 fresh Covid-19 cases on January 2.

Reports are also coming in from Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Sikkim & Manipur about vaccination drive beginning in the respective states.
