To cope up with the post-pandemic situation and reduce the pressure of students appearing for state board exams, the Tripura state board for the first time is holding exams in a Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) pattern starting today.

Addressing a press conference, the state Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath said that higher secondary examinations of Tripura Board of Secondary Education has informed that a total 28,902 students from 406 schools are appearing for the HS examination at 66 centres, while a total of 43180 students from 1126 schools are appearing for the secondary examination of the board at 82 centres across the state.

Minister Ratan Lal Nath further stated that the education department is conducting the board exams along in a CBSE format, wherein for the first term, theory examinations will be held as a precautionary step in case there is a spike in the COVID-19 pandemic.

Moreover, as per the new method, 80 marks shall be for theory, and the remaining 20 marks will be for internal assessment.

He also pointed out that since regular classes could not be held owing to the pandemic, the board has decided to reduce 30 percent of the total syllabus in all subjects.

The Education Minister also extended his wishes to the students appearing for the exams.
