34 Indian nationals released from Myanmar jails in prisoner exchange

On the occasion of 71st Constitution Day, as many as 34 Indian nationals were released from different jails in Myanmar and handed over to the authorities in India. Similarly, 28
On the occasion of 71st Constitution Day, as many as 34 Indian nationals were released from different jails in Myanmar and handed over to the authorities in India.
Similarly, 28 Myanmar nationals lodged in different jails in India were also released by India.
The prisoners were exchanged between both the nations at the Indo-Myanmar Friendship Gate at Moreh in Manipur.
While, 34 Indian nationals who completed their sentence at Central Jail of Myanmar were released and handed over to Officials in India, on the other hand, 28 Myanmar Nationals – 9 from Nagaland, 1 from Mizoram and 19 from Assam Jail, who completed their sentence have been released and handed over to the Immigration Officer of Myanmar’s Tamu District.
The prisoners were tested for COVID-19 at the Friendship Gate before exchange.
