In a first case of COVID-19 infection in the region, a woman hailing from Assam who recently returned from New Delhi after recovering from the disease, has tested positive once again.

The woman who went for her cancer treatment to the national capital had tested positive initially and finally negative before returning to Assam.

After an arduous battle against the deadly virus, the woman subsequently recovered; however, after her return to Assam on May 22, she tested positive for the virus at the Kaziranga quarantine facility in Jorhat.

It may be mentioned that the woman’s husband had already succumbed to the novel coronavirus in New Delhi.
