The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the country has surged to 3,072, according to the Ministry of Health and family Welfare.

In the biggest ever single-day spike in India, as many as 525 new COVID-19 positive cases has been reported in the country in the last 24 hours.

As many as 13 new deaths have been reported in the country, taking the overall death tally to 75.

The Union Health Ministry has further informed that till now 17 States have so far reported COVID-19 cases related to the Tablighi Jamaat.

Out of the total cases in the country, around 30 pc are linked to the Markaz at Nizamuddin in Delhi.

The Home Ministry on the other hand informed that through a massive effort around 22,000 Tablighi Jamaat workers and their contacts have been quarantined.
