Serial blasts rock Assam on 71st Republic Day

A series of bomb blasts have rocked Eastern Assam during the 71st Republic Day celebrations. As many as 5 explosions have taken place in the towns of Dibrugarh, Sonari, Duliajan

A series of bomb blasts have rocked Eastern Assam during the 71st Republic Day celebrations.

As many as 5 explosions have taken place in the towns of Dibrugarh, Sonari, Duliajan and Doomdooma.

The first bomb went off at Sonari along the Dhudor-Ali Road. In Duliajan, an IED went off near Duliajan police station.

Two low intensity blasts were reported from Graham Bazaar area in Dibrugarh. While, the first blast has been reported from near Astha hospital, the second bomb went off near a Gurudwara.

Another blast took place near Koliyapani bridge in Doomdooma. Meanwhile, police have begun investigation into the incidents.
