Accused uncle of 19-year-old victim in the Machong rape and murder case in Sikkim is being produced at the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate in Gangtok.
The gruesome rape and murder of a 19-year-old girl on November 8, hailing from Machong in East Sikkim had sent shock waves across the State.
Post-mortem reports revealed that the cause of her death was strangulation and head injury with visible sexual assault.
Earlier on Wednesday, protests erupted against the rape and murder of the girl in East Sikkim. The students of Sikkim University and the Government colleges in the State took to the streets in Gangtok demanding early delivery of justice in the rape and murder case.
