The Joint Action Committee formed to protest against alleged inaction over the death of a school girl in Manipur has threatened to call a 48-hour general strike if its demands are not met.

The Committee has said that it will call the strike from 6 in the morning on 2nd September till 6 am of September 4.

The Committee has alleged that the State Government has been misleading the people by making false statements that the case has been handed over to the CBI.

The committee has asked the State Government to produce documents confirming that the CBI has taken over the case. The committee wants the government to do produce these documents by tomorrow.

On July 18, a 13-year-old girl student was found dead in her school hostel room in Imphal West district under mysterious circumstances.
