The monsoon session of the Assam Assembly, which was scheduled to start from July 18 has been postponed and will commence on July 26, 2019.

The Assembly session has been postponed owing to the flood situation that has wreaked havoc across the State.

The announcement was made by the speaker of the legislative assembly, Hitendra Nath Goswami in a press meet.

Flood situation has worsened in Assam with nearly 50 lakh people now affected by the deluge in 30 districts.
