Normal life has been severely hit on Friday in Manipur’s Churachandpur district by the 24-hour long statewide bandh called by the Kuki Students Organisation.
The bandh was called by the KSO demanding release of its ten leaders over the recent incident of burning down the St Joseph School at Sugnu in the night of April 24.
All government offices, government and private schools remained closed and all market places were shut and abandoned. The town wore a deserted look.
Transport services have been severely hit throughout the district with almost all vehicular services suspended for the day.
While two autorickshaws were vandalised by few bandh supporters, no major incident has been reported so far.
