The prestigious Pabindra Nath Sarma and Kunjabala Devi Memorial for the year 2017 have been awarded to Diganta Sarma, staff reporter of Sadin weekly and Gagan Kumar Nath, Sipajhar correspondent
The prestigious Pabindra Nath Sarma and Kunjabala Devi Memorial for the year 2017 have been awarded to Diganta Sarma, staff reporter of Sadin weekly and Gagan Kumar Nath, Sipajhar correspondent of Axomiya khobor respectively.
The awards instituted in memory of Late Pabindra Nath Sarma, freedom fighter and senior advocate of Gauhati High court and his wife Kunjabala Devi carries a cash award of 30,000 each and a citation.
This awards is given for investigative reporting on human rights and civil liberties, while the Kunjabala Devi awards is given for investigative reporting on women issues.
Former Assam DGP Mukesh Sahay and noted women activist of Meghalaya Hasina Kharbhih graced the occasion as special guests.
