The opposition Congress in Meghalaya sees the experience of their veteran leaders and collective endeavor as the way forward to win the upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Talking to North East Live on the preparation and strategies of the state congress for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Former Chief Minister and leader of the opposition Mukul Sangma speaking on the preparation and strategies of the state congress for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections said that the congress is the only party which has network to the grassroots and that is something the party will be taking advantage of.

He said that the party is privileged to have seasoned politicians in their fold who have long experience and innings in the electoral politics.

It may be mentioned that the MDA coalition is contemplating to fight the Lok Sabha elections united and its partner, United Democratic Party (UDP) is pitching for a common candidate for the Shillong seat.

Meghalaya has two Lok Sabha seats, Shillong and Tura seat. Congress MP Vincent Pala is the Shillong MP and Chief Minister Conrad Sangma had resigned from the Tura seat to contest the elections from South Tura constituency.
