As many as two ULFA-I militants sustained serious injuries in a fierce encounter that took place between security forces and a group of suspected ULFA-I militants at Kotha Reserve forest near Jagun in eastern Assam’s Tinsukia district.
The Army has also recovered an IED weighing 3 kg, live grenades of UBGL (Under Barrel Grenade Launcher), scores of live ammunition and other war like stores.
Meanwhile, the Army has cordoned off the area and are have launched a massive combing operation to trace down the militants who managed to flee from the site of encounter.
The encounter had begun at around 8 in the evening yesterday after the army launched a search operation after receiving intel about the movement of ULFA-I militants in the area.
