Hizbul militant hailing from Assam arrested by anti-terrorism squad in Uttar Pradesh

In a major catch the Uttar Pradesh Police has arrested one of the most wanted terrorists from Assam Kamruz Zaman who had joined the Hizbul Mujaheedin in Jammu & Kashmir.

In a major catch the Uttar Pradesh Police has arrested one of the most wanted terrorists from Assam Kamruz Zaman who had joined the Hizbul Mujaheedin in Jammu & Kashmir. Zaman was arrested in the morning today.

Zaman, who hails from Jamunamukh in Assam’s Hojai district hit the headlines in March when the Hizbul terror outfit released his picture wielding an automatic weapon that had gone viral in social media.

His picture was identified by his family members in Jamunamukh who said that he went missing from Kishtwar in the Kashmir valley.

Highly placed Assam police sources confirmed the arrest and said that he fell into the net of the Uttar Pradesh anti terrorist squad today morning.

Menawhile, according to reports, the Uttar Pradesh polcie have claimed that Zaman was palnning to carry out a terror attack in UP.

The Assam Police may soon send a team to either get custody of Zaman or interrogate him outside the state.

Significantly, security sources said sleuths are on the lookout for a few other youths from Assam who may have also joined terror groups active in Jammu & Kashmir.

According to reports, Zaman had gone to Bangladesh following which he had visited the US for some business and stayed abroad for four years.

He returned home in 2006 and shifted to the Kashmir Valley where he started a garment business.

Family members mentioned that Zaman was last heard of doing business in Kashmir till July 2017, when he disappeared all of a sudden.
