The NRC authorities have fixed August 30 as the date for receipt of claims and objections for inclusion or deletion of names from the final draft NRC. The last date for receipt of claims and objections will be September 28.
Those people whose names do not figure in the complete draft NRC will get two months period to prepare the ground with necessary documents to file claims.
Talking to Northeast Live in an exclusive interview, NRC state co-ordinator Prateek Hajela said that those people whose names do not appear in the final draft NRC have nothing to fear and will not be sent to detention centres as it had been reported in certain quarters.
Prateek Hajela also echoed Rajnath Singh’s statement and said that a fair chance will be given to everyone to file claims & objection for inclusion of names in the NRC.
