The Assam Congress is not divided over the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill issue.
This was informed by state Congress president Ripun Bora who was in Delhi with a state party leaders’ delegation to attend a party high command meet to deliberate on the issue.
Following a meeting with Congress general secretary CP Joshi, Assam party president Ripun Bora said party leaders from both Brahmaputra and Barak valleys are united on their stand on the Citizenship Bill.
He asserted that the party leaders are on the same page as far as opposing the bill is concerned.
He, however, was quick to add that party leaders who supported the bill had their personal opinion on it, but the party stand on the matter is clear.
