Manipur will be seeing the tabling of the bill for an Inner Line Permit System in the summer session of the state assembly.

In this context, a consultative meeting over the draft bill of the ILPS was held at the Kuki Inpi in the state’s Churachandpur district.

The meeting, presided over by the Kuki Inpi India’s President Thangkhosei Haokip, saw leaders of the other tribal councils such as the Zomi, Paite and Hmar.

The draft bill was analysed in the meet after which it was decided that members of the Zomi Council and the Hmar will carry further study of the bill to suggest any further amendment or changes to it.

It was decided that the next round of meeting would be held on May 26 under the leadership of the Zomi Council, where the next course of action would be decided.
