As crimes against women go unabated in Assam, two more heinous incidents of rape has now sent ripples across the state raising apprehensions about safety of women.

One of the worst cases ever, a 20 year old girl was raped and left to die along the National Highway 54 at Kopahbari in Hojai district of Assam. Locals witnessed the victim lying in a critical condition and soon rushed her to a hospital.

Meanwhile, a person identified as Munna Das was arrested for trying to molest a minor at Katigorah in Cachar district. The accused is a private tutor to the minor studying in Nursery standard. The victim was molested while she was alone at home.
