The folk singer from Assam and the reigning queen of Bhojpuri music industry Kalpana Patowary has been invited to sing at the closing day of Commonwealth games on April 15 to be held at Gold Coast, Queensland in Australia.
Kalpana will showcase the rich cultural diversity of her country and will sing in five different dialects of India namely Bodo, Tiwa, Deori, Assamese and Bhojpuri.
Kalpana expressed her joy and surprise and said that she is ‘overwhelmed and honoured’ by this achievement.
