Zubeen Garg, the singing superstar from Assam turned 50 today. Fans, celebrities, political leaders and his well wishers took to social media to wish the singing superstar on his special day.

A heartthrob for youths of Assam Zubeen cut his birthday cake with his fans and family on the midnight of the 18th.

Fans from across the state were seen gathering in front of his  Kahilipara home at midnight singing sing his songs. His fans were also seen waiting outside his house to catch a glimpse of their heartthrob.

Zublee Baruah, who has performed with him on numerous occasions, stated that his birthday celebrations in the coming year will be celebrated on a grander scale

His wife Garima Saikia Garg informed that like every other year Zubeen Garg fan clubs across the state will be doing various social activities in his name as part of observing their icon’s birthday.

Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma also took his social platform to wish the singer.

Zubeen Garg was born to Mohini Borthakur, better known as Kapil Thakur, and Ily Borthakur on November 18, 1971, in Tura. His parents had named him after famous music composer Zubin Mehta.
