Barely a week after the major boat capsize incident near Guwahati, another such incident took place at Kalgachia over the Beki river in Assam’s Barpeta district.

The ferry boat collided with one of the pillars of a bridge resulting in four people falling into the water.

All the four people had a miraculous escape and were rescued in time, averting a disaster. The people were returning after watching a local boat race in a nearby locality.

Apart from the four people, none of the passengers in the ferry boat faced any issues during the incident and safely reached the shores of river.
