Women in Arunachal Pradesh’s urban model village Mayu took things into their own hands to control the drug menace in the area.
A group of 20 women came together to conduct a surprise drug eradication drive at the urban model village seizing two packets of brown sugar among other contraband items. The women also apprehended drug peddlers and abusers.
On receipt of information, a police team headed by DSP Opir Paron and Inspector Abraham Taying, arrived at the spot. All the culprits, along with the recovered items, were handed over to the police. The model village has long been notorious for accommodating drug peddlers, abusers, and antisocial activities.
