With eyes on 2023 polls Tripura TMC announces 132-member committee

While former Bengal legislator Rajib Banerjee will continue as the State In-Charge of Tripura, Subal Bhowmik has been appointed as the State President.

The Tripura Pradesh Trinamool Congress has announced a 132-member State Committee for Tripura, which is scheduled to go for polls in early 2023.

While former Bengal legislator Rajib Banerjee will continue as the State In-Charge of Tripura, Subal Bhowmik has been appointed as the State President.

The six-member Core Committee includes Sushmita Dev, Ashish Das, Bhriguram Reang, Ashish Lal Singh, Mamon Khan, and Bhowmik himself.

The 132-member State Committee has 8 Vice-Presidents, 5 General Secretaries, 14 Secretaries, 7 Joint Secretaries, and 72 Executive Members.

Speaking to the media in Agartala, Rajib Banerjee alleged that due to 25 years of misrule by the Left Front followed by the four years of BJP, the people of Tripura now want a change and to establish TMC under the leadership of Mamata Banerjee.

Speaking to Northeast Live, TMC Tripura in charge Rajib Banerjee said with the declaration of the full-fledged TMC committee for Tripura the party’s political activities shall resume again.

He also added after the recent civil polls the party has risen up to the position as the main opposition party.

Meanwhile, when asked about the recent political development in Tripura where two BJP MLAs Sudip Roy Barman and Ashish Kumar Saha joined the Congress, the TMC Tripura incharge accepted that this move will strengthen the Congress but will not affect the TMC.
