Assam Health and Finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has asserted that the BJP will not shy away from a head on contest if the AASU goes ahead to form a political party.
Sarma’s remark comes in the wake of repeated statements issued by AASU general secretary Lurinjyoti Gogoi and president Dipanka Nath that an alternate political force is the need of the hour.
The BJP top gun pointed out that back in 1985 a certain party was formed on the pretext of an agitation, the same drama is being repeated again.
The review meeting was attended by Chief Ministers of Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Tripura.
