A wild elephant was successfully rescued by forest officials after it was tranquilised at Boragaon near Guwahati city.

The elephant was roaming around Boragaon locality which falls close to a forest range and was rescued after it was stuck in a mud pit.

The jumbo was lifted by a crane after transquilising. The elephant was successfully transquilised after it was chased around the area for about eight hours.

The prowling elephant caused panic among the local people in the area.
