Around 1 AM, she alerted the apartment’s security staff, who tried ringing the doorbell multiple times but received no response.

In a shocking start to the New Year, Payal Saikia, a 28-year-old woman, was found dead in her rented apartment at Blue Bell Rengoni Daya Sagar Complex, NijoraPar, Guwahati. Her dead body was discovered on the fourth floor of H4 block in the early hours of January 1.

Payal’s mother had grown worried when her repeated calls to her daughter went unanswered. Around 1 AM, she alerted the apartment’s security staff, who tried ringing the doorbell multiple times but received no response. Upon breaking down the door, they found Payal hanging inside the apartment.

According to reports, Payal’s boyfriend was a frequent visitor to her apartment. Witnesses recall a heated argument between the couple in front of the building around three months ago. The Chandmari police, investigating the case, suspect a jilted lover might be involved. They are examining whether her past relationship or any other factor played a role in the tragedy.
