Under the influence of the Cyclone Remal which is most likely to hit Bangladesh coast today, Heavy rainfall and thunderstorm may lash a few isolated places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. These states may largely witness light to moderate rain today. Lightning and gusty winds may also hit parts of Assam and Meghalaya. However, hot and humid weather will most likely prevail in Assam, Meghalaya and Sikkim. The temperature in Guwahati is set to range between 29 degrees Celsius and 39 degrees Celsius today. As for Itanagar, temperature could soar as high as 37 degrees and dip to 28 degrees by the end of the day. Shillong will witness a temperature range of 19 to 28 degrees Celsius. Imphal will have a temperature range of 23 to 31 degrees Celsius. Kohima on the other hand, will witness a relatively comfortable 18 degrees to 27 degrees temperature range. Similarly as rain and thunderstorm hits Aizawl, the temperature will stay within 19 to 28 degrees Celsius. As for Gangtok, the city will witness 19 to 29 degrees Celsius of temperature range. As the nation reels under extreme heat wave conditions, the same is likely to prevail in most parts of Rajasthan, Punjab & Haryana. Heat wave condition will also continue in isolated pockets of Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Gujarat. Meanwhile, several other states including West Bengal, Odisha & kerala may witness heavy rainfall today. On the other hand, rest of the south Indian states which have been witnessing heavy to very heavy rainfall for several days now including Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will receive relatively low spells of rain accompanied by lightning and gusty winds. Speaking about our neighbouring nations, Bhutan continues to be under occasional spells of rain and the region has been mostly under cloudy skies. Meanwhile, the current weather in Bangladesh is hot and humid. However, it’s predicted to change by the afternoon with thunderstorm likely at some spots. Meanwhile Nepal is witnessing a very warm and humid weather with partly sunny skies. The region will also witness light showers by the afternoon and thunderstorm towards the end of the day. As for Myanmar, the region continues to be under heavy rain and thunderstorm. The current weather is breezy and according to forecast, thunderstorm will hit some parts late in the day.
