The war on drugs continues unabated in Manipur, on Tuesday, Tengnoupal Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered 30 soap cases of brown sugar from him while carrying out routine checking at the Moreh Police Check Post.
On Tuesday evening, a team of Moreh Police stopped a van coming towards Imphal at Kondong Lairembi Check Post for routine frisking and checking. 30 soap cases of brown sugar were found hidden in the two front doors and below the seat of the driver.
The team arrested the driver, identified as Paominlun from Churachanpur District. Meanwhile, the drugs and the peddler have been handed over to Moreh Police Station. A case has also been registered at Moreh Police Station under the NDPS Act.
