In a tragic incident on early Wednesday morning, the boundary wall of the Central Workshop of Karsingsa, Arunachal Pradesh State Transport (APST), collapsed due to heavy rainfall claiming the lives of four individuals and injuring six others. The collapse occurred around 1:30 am.
Local residents, along with a police team, promptly responded and managed to rescue eleven people trapped under the debris. Notably, four individuals were found dead at the scene.
Naharlagun SP Mihin Gambo confirmed the news, saying, “The police and local residents worked together to rescue eight people alive, but unfortunately, we lost four lives in the incident.”
The deceased have been identified as Urmila Biswas, Vikash Biswas, Mukibur Rahman, and Paul. The six injured, including Akash Biswas, Rakesh Biswas, and Arun Ali, were rushed to medical facilities and are now reported to be stable.
SP Gambo assured that the injured are receiving the necessary medical attention while the bodies of the deceased have been sent to TRIHMS for post-mortem examinations.
