Manipur had posed peculiar challenges during the violence which escalated from 3rd of May, Eastern Army Commander Lt General Rana Pratap Kalita said during a media interaction at Fort William in Kolkata. After the violence which unfolded on the 3rd, 4th, and 5th of May, Army and Assam Rifles personnel operating alongside the state police and CRPF were able to control the violence and give shelter to over 35,000 displaced people, he added.
