UPSC Exam Calendar 2026: The Civil Services Preliminary Exam will be conducted on 24 May, with the Main Examination following on 21 August.
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially released its examination calendar for 2026, detailing key dates for several national-level assessments, including the prestigious Civil Services Examination (CSE).
According to the schedule, the Civil Services Preliminary Examination will be conducted on 24 May 2026, with the Main Examination following on 21 August 2026. The notification for the CSE is set to be issued on 14 January 2026, and candidates will have until 3 February to submit their applications.
The calendar also confirms the dates for the National Defence Academy/Naval Academy (NDA/NA) and Combined Defence Services (CDS I) examinations, both of which are scheduled for 12 April 2026.
Specialised examinations such as the Combined Geo-Scientist and Engineering Services Preliminary Exams are slated for 8 February 2026. These tests target candidates with scientific and technical qualifications, highlighting UPSC’s commitment to recruiting talent across diverse sectors.
Notably, the Indian Forest Service Preliminary Examination, which is held in conjunction with the Civil Services Preliminary Examination, will also take place on 24 May. This alignment ensures a more efficient assessment process for aspirants in the forestry domain.
The UPSC has cautioned that examination dates may change if necessary. Aspirants are advised to regularly visit the official UPSC website for the latest updates and announcements.
