Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal embarks on 3-day Jan Ashirwad Yatra

The Bharatiya Janata Party in Assam gave a rousing welcome to Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal who arrived in Guwahati on Saturday morning.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and state BJP President Bhabesh Kalita accorded a warm welcome to Sarbananda Sonowal at the LGBI Airport in Borjhar.

The Union Cabinet Minister is in Assam to take part in the three-day Jan Ashirwad Yatra organized by the BJP.

Union Minister of State Rameshwar Teli is also accompanying Sonowal.

Both of them attended a party rally at Azara. Sonowal will address the media later in the evening in party headquarter in Guwahati.

This is Sonowal’s first visit to Assam since he assumed office as Minister in the Union Cabinet. He is also a member of the Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs.

The Assam unit of BJP will carry out three-day ‘Axirbaad Yatra’ to welcome Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal. The program will be held at 18 places across the State during his Yatra from August 21 to August 23.

The yatra will proceed through the party’s organisation districts of Guwahati, Morigaon, Kaliabar, Nagaon, Jorhat, Sivasagar and Dibrugarh covering 375.5 km. The yatra will be held amid strict adherence to COVID-19 protocols.
