The Union Minister took to Twitter to announce that he has tested positive for Coronavirus and urged all those who have come in contact with him to exercise self-quarantine and get themselves tested.
“After getting a repeated test for Covid-19, today my report has come out positive. I’m taking the advice of the doctors. I request all those who have come in my contact recently to be observant, exercise self-quarantine, and get themselves tested. I’m physically fit and fine,” Rijiju tweeted.
The country reported its highest-ever single-day spike of COVID-19 cases with over 2.34 lakh new cases today and more than 1,300 deaths in the last 24 hours.
The total number of COVID-19 cases has gone up to 1,45,26,609.
Meanwhile, a total of 11,99,37,641 vaccine doses have been administered so far through 17,37,539 sessions, according to the Union Health Ministry.
