ULFA-Independent has released abducted Tea Garden worker Dinnanath Upadhyaya. Upadhyaya was released by the ULFA-Independent near Wara Basti village along the Indo-Myanmar Border in Arunachal Pradesh.
This was confirmed to Northeast Live by Upadhyaya’s son, Pratap Upadhayaya. He said that his father called up his family soon after the ULFA-Independent released him and conveyed the message.
Notably, Dinanath Upadhyaya was abducted by a group of ULFA-Independent cadres on June 8 from Assam’s Tinsukia district.
ULFA-Independent claimed that Upadhyaya was abducted for allegedly passing on information about the movements of the cadres of the outfit to the security forces.
