While the number of cases continues to rise in the region, the heartening part is that patients are also getting cured at a steady rate.
Two COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the Mohendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital in Guwahati on Saturday.
Both the patients hail from Uttar Pradesh. Earlier, a total of 9 patients from hospitals in Sonapur, Goalpara and Golaghat were discharged in Assam.
Meanwhile, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also visited the MMC Hospital before the patients were discharged.
Sarma made it clear that while the two patients have been discharged they would still be given accommodation within the hospital premises in view of the ongoing lockdown.
With the discharge of the two patients at MMCH, the total number of recovered patients in Assam stands at 11.
Earlier 2 COVID-19 patients from Sonapur District Hospital, 3 from Goalpara Civil Hospital and 4 from Swahid Kushal Konwar Civil Hospital were discharged after they had fully recovered from COVID-19.
