A shocking incident has come to the fore from Lailapur area under Dholai constituency, near the Assam-Mizoram border.

Two minor school-going girls were allegedly kidnapped while they were on their way to school and raped by two youths at a lodge in Mizoram, in an incident which has sparked outrage in the region.

According to sources, the victims were abducted in a luxury four-wheeler vehicle and after around 2-3 hours the victims were left in a vehicle at Channighat in Cachar on the Assam-Mizoram border.

The incident has sparked massive outrage in the area with various groups and organizations demanding the arrest of the two accused, who have been identified as Ruhail Amin Laskar and Azad Hussain Barbhuiya.
