A two-day-long investment summit titled ‘Destination Tripura’ began in Agartala. The summit is being held at the Pragya Bhavan and is being organised by the government of Tripura along with the Indian Chamber of Commerce.

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, State Industry Minister Manoj Kanti Deb, Chairman of Rubber Board Dr. Sawar Dhanania, TIDC Chairman Tinku Ray, Industries Secretary Dr. Prashant Kumar Goyal, and PCCF Dr. D K Sharma were representatives of Indian Chamber of Commerce were present at the inauguration.

More than 80 investors are participating in the summit that is focusing on various promising sectors of the state including rubber, food processing, tea, bamboo, handloom, agar, tourism, higher education, and information technology.

Speaking on the occasion Chief Minister Biplab Deb stated that after the formation of his government in March 2018 there have been several reforms for ease of business and transparency including the adoption of a single-window system for attracting more investments.

He added major development has happened in the connectivity sectors with the international airport coming up which shall have flights to Bangladesh, Singapore, and other neighboring nations.

The summit aims at bringing investment in the state so that units are set up while using the locally available resources and going for value addition and creating employment scope in the state.
