While the Siang River in Arunachal Pradesh continues to be in a turbulent state causing panic among locals, a report received from the Chinese government has stated that heavy rains in China over the Tsangpo River has resulted in the turbulence.
A circular issued by the Arunachal Pradesh state government has stated that the river has swelled up after the last recorded discharge of 9,020 cumec yesterday morning.
This has been reportedly the largest discharge of water from the Tsangpo in China in 50 years. The report also stated that the Tsangpo had released 8,070 cumec water on August 14.
It is also stated in the report that the increase of 950 cumec water discharged should not be an issue to life and property in India. But precautionary measures are to be taken to avoid any untoward situation from happening.
