The total number of COVID-19 cases in Tripura crossed the 500-mark after 49 more cases were detected positive on Wednesday.

Most of the patient has travel history and had been in contact with other infected people. With this, the overall tally of COVID-19 cases in the state has reached 518.

Confirming the news, Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb said 821 samples were tested for COVID19, out of which 49 were found positive.

The chief minister also informed that most of the infected patients have travel history and came into contact with COVID-19 positive cases.

“Out of 821 samples tested today, 49 people found COVID-19 #POSITIVE. Most of them have travel history and contacts,” said Biplab Deb.

Earlier, the state registered 25 COVID-19 positive cases on Tuesday night, taking the state’s tally to 471.

A total of 29,066 people have been tested so far, and 173 patients have recovered, according to the latest figures from the state health department.
