Two youths were allegedly beaten up by traffic police officials and taken in custody on Thursday after their vehicle reportedly broke down in the road just before the arrival of Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb’s convoy.

According to reports, the vehicle of Angle Reang and Abhijit Debbarma had a breakdown in the road just before the arrival of the Chief Minister’s convoy.

The youths have alleged that the traffic police took them in their custody and despite producing all required documents of the vehicle, they were beaten up in a room where there was no CCTV camera.

Following this, the youths were then handed over to the Police at the New Capital Complex Police Station.

Meanwhile, the issue has come to the notice of the Tribal Students Federation.
