The deceased has been identified as 47-year-old Shibani Das.

In a disturbing incident from Tripura’s Gomati district, the body of a woman bearing deep cut injuries was discovered on Saturday morning in a field near Holakhet School Para, under the Udaipur subdivision. The deceased has been identified as 47-year-old Shibani Das.

According to Additional Superintendent of Police Souvik Dey, the nature of the injuries suggests possible foul play. A mobile phone was recovered near the body, which police believe could offer vital leads in the case. Authorities have begun questioning local residents and gathering evidence from the scene.

Shibani Das is survived by two sons and a daughter. Her husband is reportedly living separately. While no formal complaint has been filed by the family, police have indicated they may initiate a suo motu case if necessary.

A relative, Chandan Das, stated that Shibani had been involved in a recent dispute with her husband. With her sons living away and her daughter married, concerns had reportedly been raised about her vulnerability.

Following the report, police officials reached the spot, including ASP Souvik Dey and Officer-in-Charge of Radha Kishorepur Police Station Babul Das. A dog squad and mobile forensic team were also deployed to aid in the investigation.

The mysterious and tragic circumstances of Shibani Das’s death have left the local community in shock. Police have launched a thorough investigation to uncover the truth behind the incident.
