The issue of illegal influx has once again come to light in the region, after Tripura royal scion Pradyot Kishore Manikya Dev Burman shared a video, allegedly showing people illegally crossing international border along the Indo-Bangladesh border in the state.

It was also stated that the incidents had allegedly taken place in the Simna constituency in the West District.

This led the local IPFT MLA, Brishaketu Debbarma and other officers of the state government and BSF personnel to visit the area and inspect the ground situation along the border.

It was found that some areas of the border were not fenced at all and some other points culverts have been placed along the border which makes it easy for people to illegally cross over.

The MLA immediately ordered for the sealing of such passages and make sure that more BSF personnel are deployed in the area.
